Yume Nikki Fangames

As you may know, Yume Nikki had inspired other projects with similar themes and gameplay. Games like.flow and Yume 2kki followed in YN's footsteps, but also became their own thing.flow focused more on the horror aspect, relying on a lot of gruesome imagery and implied themes such as diseases, child experimentation and school violence.Yume 2kki is by far the largest fangame, having been worked on by multiple developers (including the dev of.flow). It seemed to focus more on the surreal and wondrous landscapes, but still did not shy away from the creepy and disturbing. There are also other games such as Me, Lcd Dem, and Yume Nisshi. Have any of you played these gems? Originally posted by:Tch!
I'm still salty about Koronba straight up trying to erase Lcd Dem from existence and memory. I understand that the ending was probably very personal for them but it's just not right to turn back on something that you have worked hard on and that people had loved. The fact that Koronba also has a habit of deleting their accounts and reappearing out of nowhere doesn't help and it shows an incredible lack of integrity. Didn't Koronba come back and make some vocaloid animations and then disappear when people realized he was koronba? Or was that someone pretending to be him?

Mar 15, 2012 Title: Me (pronounced 'Meh'. The title could mean either 'eye' or 'sprout', both of which are motifs in the game.) Current version: 0.10+ Total effects: 9. Yume Nikki Fangames Wiki is a FANDOM Games Community. View Mobile Site JokeyPsych EndgameHonest GalaxyQuest.
Yep, that is exactly what I meant. Koronba did a few songs on soundcloud then peaced out after the warm reception of A Sardine Grows from the Soil. I played Yume 2kki,.flow, Yume Nisshi, Madoro-mu, sickmindThere is actually a huge amount of YN-like fangames, with the major boom happened after YN went into the current 0.10 version 10 years ago. Here is an updated list to every known games with links to their DL pages and date of the latest updateYume 2kki is the biggest one, both being directly inspired by YN and still being really unique with the impressively massive amount of worlds to explore and multiple endings. I played it since there was no endings.
It is still getting regular updates so every playthrough feels unique. It's last update was literally 9 days ago, so it's still a living project.flow is another big one, having a more directly horror/splatter atmosphere (instead of a scary surrealist one) and a definitive ending. The bloody faces (and the real ending) still haunts me sometimes. The game is complete, so you can grab it and play it to it's fullest.sickmind deserve a special mention. It went up to version 0.10 befire the creator decided to 'revisit' it. Before that it was a unique take in the YN playstyle because you had 3 different characters to play with, each with a different approach on the game. All the three girls pathways eventually converge in the.
'ending'Unfortunately the creator ended up trying to 'revisit' this game, and now it sits in a 0.015 version since 2 years, with only one character to play and more similar to Yume 2kki.Yume Nisshi was the last bigger take on YN, featuring a similar feel and worlds. It got removed from distribuition some years ago at 0.03, and a year ago got another update to 0.04+. I haven't played past the 0.01 version, but it had a really solid style and exploration, although a little too similar to YN.Madoro-mu was the last one I tried.
It felt really incomplete with almost no sounds and a lack of areas to explore. It got updated eventually (about one year and half ago), so I should give it another try. Originally posted by:Never played them, they're all really difficult to access to (for me) but I visit their wikis a lot. What do you mean by that? What's stopping you?I finished Yume Nisshi on 0.04+. Oddly enough, it's probably not the definitive version of the game since the Cage effect is inaccessible.
You could do without it but it does lead to a nice little easter egg regarding a dove. Maybe 0.04 is the best one to play. While it's incomplete and doesn't even have an ending due to unfortunate circumstances from the developer, I think it's a well-made fangame. The worlds are quite interesting and the graphics/music are solid. It's more lighthearted in tone than Yume Nikki, though it certainly has its creepy moments (the Iron Maiden, Pholus, the whole Office area, any event triggered by killing a NPC, etc.)I noticed that only a few of the Effects are actually useful for something, while the rest are cosmetic. I didn't particularly like the Rabbit effect (Nisshi's Bicycle), as the step sound effect is too loud and frequent and it alters Usotsuki's appearance for over 90% of the game.As for 'what it all means,' I think Usotsuki could be a psychotic killer who murdered her father (the man of the Faceless Couple) and a sickly girl (Trisha), earning the ire of the girl's brother Pholus. Usotsuki probably killed Shinjitsuki, taking his apartment room and using it as her hiding place.
The word Terrier comes from the other dog in the bloodline a small, game, quick, hunting dog. The word Bull comes from the dogs ancestry which includes the famous bulldog. The dog,who among other things, would latch onto a and not let go. The word Pit, comes from where the dog proved its strength and valor. The word American comes from the country where the dog was bred and refined, from its ancestors in europe.
As for the girl nicknamed Nanashi, I have no idea. Some say she's the same person as Shinjitsuki. I'm thinking Nanashi could be an older version of Usotsuki's mom, who was hospitalized sometime after her husband's death. Then Usotsuki came and finished the job, leading to the bloody coffin event.Usotsuki may be a sadomasochist who likes to experiment with how to kill people, as evidenced by a fixation to sharp objects like needles and thorns. One way she can kill an NPC is setting one on fire until it becomes ashes. Her weapon of choice is a baseball bat with nails hammered in.What's noticeable is that there are no active chasers in the game.
There are only two and they're both passive, only chasing Usotsuki if attacked.Usotsuki seemed to have had a happy childhood seeing as how many dream worlds have a more 'happy' tone, but she could also be a troubled child who developed a fixation for taking things apart. The Doll World seemed harmless enough, though there were some disembodied arms and two dolls with messed up faces.
The Headless World showed multiple forms of Trisha, a couple of which that reveals her spine and may even be missing a head. And that's about it. This is probably a big stretch but the themes of the worlds don't feel as cohesive as Yume Nikki's.
