A fine pastiche of both Arthur Conan Doyle & H P Lovecraft. Not the easiest to pull but rather well done with a style mimicking the best of both of them. A gripping narrative and a nice sub plot really does deal with such Lovecraftian themes as alien controlling presences, mind control, Lovecraft Country & infamous creatures from the Cthulhu Mythos pantheon.

The concept of dietification which happens later on, I found a little trivialising and a slight stain on an otherwise intriguing and gripping piece of work.
